In conceiving this residence, which I call “White Rock Sanctuary,” my guiding philosophy was to forge architecture that enters into a deep dialogue with its powerful, rocky landscape. My aim was not to dominate the site, but to create a home that feels emergent from the land itself.
I envisioned the house as a series of interconnected, white geometric volumes that rise and spread, following the natural topography. This approach is my modern interpretation of timeless regional building traditions, with crisp white forms standing in harmonious contrast to the rugged earth tones. The journey through the home unfolds across multiple levels connected by open-air staircases and terraces, blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor living.
Each space is carefully carved out to provide shelter while framing specific views. The swimming pool becomes the tranquil heart of the composition—a cool jewel of turquoise set against the arid landscape. My ambition was to create a true sanctuary: a serene refuge that provides comfort while ensuring its inhabitants feel a profound and constant connection to the wild, timeless beauty of the site.
