3rd International AI Award 2025

the IAI Award stands as one of the globe’s premier Artificial Intelligence awards. Internationally recognized, the IAI Award Label is esteemed as a prestigious hallmark of excellence in design. To systematically evaluate the breadth of creativity in this realm, the IAI Award is categorized into many categories, with competitions held annually for each category.

Open to All Fields Involving AI Applications

The IAI Award welcomes participation from all sectors of the community, including students, emerging talents, industry professionals, academic researchers, and companies. Submissions are encouraged from anyone engaging with artificial intelligence applications, regardless of scale or experience.

Eligible entries may come from a broad spectrum of AI-related disciplines, such as emerging technologies, innovative products and services, big data programming, robotics design, medical and healthcare applications, architecture, fashion, gaming, and visual and graphic communication. Projects that incorporate AI in education, social impact, sustainability, user experience, interaction design, or cross-disciplinary collaborations are equally welcome.

Whether you are an individual creator, a student team, a start-up, a research lab, or an established enterprise, the IAI Award is dedicated to celebrating outstanding achievements that drive responsible and human-centered AI development.

Who can participate

Any individual may participate. Eligibility is open to students, design studios, companies, universities, research laboratories, inventors and professional designers. Submissions may include all types of AI-based inventions, novelty designs, and aesthetic works — including programming-based works, installations, robotics projects, and both commissioned and non-commissioned communication designs.

Entries may be submitted under either the “Concept” or “Ready For Market” category. Concept entries can include any kind of invention, novelty design, architectural work, installation, aesthetic creation, or communication design.

What to submit

  1. Within the entry form, provide: A detailed description (maximum 2000 characters in English)
  2. Upload up to 10 images of the product or project in JPG or PNG format. Each file must be no larger than 5MB, with a resolution of 300dpi.
  3. Optional: A video in MP4 format, maximum file size 300MB, and duration of 3 minutes or less.
  4. For AI-generated works involving coding:
     • What to submit: The main source code or script used to generate the work (e.g., Python, Processing, JavaScript).
     • Format: Upload as a .zip file containing the code and necessary assets.
     • Documentation: Include a brief README or comment within the code to explain how it works (preferably in English).
     • If the code was based on an open-source model or library, clearly specify the version and any modifications made.

What needs to be answered

  1. When did you first start using AI tools in your creative process?
  2. What prompts were used to create this work? Please list details such as: subject, style, background, composition, lighting, and other relevant visual elements.
  3. Which model version was used? (e.g., Midjourney V7, SDXL, Realistic Vision, etc.)
  4. Why did you choose this particular model over others?
  5. Were any innovative techniques used, such as ControlNet?
  6. Were any advanced parameters applied, such as –oref, –ow, etc.?
  7. What ethical considerations did you take into account when using AI tools?
  1. What potential social impacts do you see in using AI-generated design in public or cultural contexts?
  2. How might AI-generated design influence future economic models in the creative industries?
  3. Which aspects of human creativity do you think will be most challenged or transformed by AI in the future?

Judging Criteria

  1. Innovation and Creativity
Evaluate the originality, novelty, and creative potential of the solution, including its contribution to advancing AI-related design or applications.
  2. Ethical Responsibility and AI Governance
Assess adherence to responsible AI principles, such as fairness, accountability, transparency, inclusivity, and respect for human values. Projects should avoid bias and demonstrate a commitment to trustworthy AI development.
  3. Transparency and Open AI Practices
Consider whether the project discloses its AI algorithms, data sources, or code in a clear and transparent manner. Openness and explainability will be valued to promote reproducibility and community trust.
  4. Technical Excellence
Examine the technical accuracy, robustness, scalability, and feasibility of the AI technologies applied, as well as the soundness of their integration within the design or product.
  5. User Experience and Accessibility
Evaluate the overall user-centered design, including usability, intuitiveness, inclusivity, and accessibility for diverse user groups.
  6. Impact and Social Value
Assess the project’s potential to generate positive societal impact, promote sustainability, and contribute to human well-being or the common good.
  7. Sponsoring companies are not permitted to participate.
  8. All nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges, who will then short-list applications based on defined criteria for each award category.
  9. Short-listed nominations will proceed to the second round of voting.
  10. Some award categories will be decided by judges, while others will be open to public voting.
